An archaeologist is tormented by feverish nightmares in a Cairo hospital: in his delusion he goes back down in the Pharaon’s tomb and confronts his own demon there… Andy Kaiser’s fevered images show that he is a master of puppet-making and lighting.

Andy Kaiser’s film plunges us into the depths of a Pharaoh’s tomb. Andy Kaiser and his archaeologist Scarabäus are searching for the last secrets of the 3rd millennium. With his camera tracking through the gloomy stone vaults at break-neck speed he penetrates the deepest depths of the labyrinth. Andy Kaiser’s fevered images show that he is a master of puppet-making and lighting. He moves his abstract figures around their shadowy world with consummate ease. His sets are so realistic that audiences must follow him into the eerie subterranean stone caverns shuddering with fear and fits of claustrophobia. The film is a fine example of classic prop and puppet construction.
