As a child Hermann is taunted and bullied by his classmates. When he grows up, he learns the reason for the hatred his name has inspired. He travels to South America to meet his father for the first time and to free himself from the man he has never known.

Hermann’s father (Charlton Heston), as a doctor and genetic scientist, was responsible for the deaths of thousands of prisoners in the concentration camp of Auschwitz and for ghastly human experiments performed on children and new-borns. Hermann wants to confront his father with his past. But the father too has long been waiting for this meeting to rid his son of the ‘lies of his enemies’ and Hermann’s slight hope of convincing his father to surrender to the police quickly vanishes. A psychological battle between father and son ensues as Hermann is torn apart with a struggle he can never win...
