Alexander Hacke is best known for his work with experimental group Einstürzende Neubauten, which in 2005 celebrated their 25th year anniversary.
Neubauten, something of a musical institution in their native Germany (actually sent to represent the Country at the 1986 World Expo), are widely regarded around the world as one of the founding fathers of “industrial” music, influencing later bands such as Nine Inch Nails and Ministry, among others.
Among the many projects Hacke has been involved in during the past years is the the soundtrack for “Head On” (Gegen die Wand) a brilliant film by Fatih Akin, awarded the Golden Bear at the 2004 Berlin International Film Festival.
The soundtrack features “Sugarpie”, one of the 11 songs of his solo album “Sanctuary”.
Alexander Hacke is also involved in Fatih Akin’s latest film “Crossing The Bridge - The Sound Of Istanbul”, both as actor and musician.
