Tino Navarro was born in 1954, in Vila Flor, Portugal and started working in film production in 1972. In 1987 he founded the production company MGN Filmes, and in 1988 he produced and released his first feature, A MULHER DO PRÓXIMO.

This film was a big success for the Portuguese box office and received the prize for best film at the International Film Festival of Huelva (Spain) in 1988. Since then Tino Navarro has produced or co-produced more than twenty films, among them “TENTAÇÃO”, “ADÃO E EVA” and “ZONA J” which rank in the top five of the box-office of all Portuguese films ever released in Portugal.

His films have been selected by major International Festivals (PORTUGAL, SA in the Moscow International Film Festival in 1984, and UM TIRO NO ESCURO in the Shanghai International Film Festival in 2005).

Tino Navarro was president of the board of the Portuguese Film Producers Association from 1993 till 2000 and is a member of the European Film Academy.
