Familiar tale ! Gorgeous gazelle wife Giovanna married-off young, irritating bear-like husband Bragana, and young vagabond Gino passing through and “built like a horse”. Creatures in Abruzzian heat. Marriage of convenience? Lust?
Gino arrives on a passing truck, catches the deliciousness of Giovanni’s cabaret song as she paints her nails, samples an angel’s cooking for free, and finds serious love. Though too soon he stalks off, intolerant of the strongroom of marriage.
They meet again at a local fair and Gino, overcome, craves her so, while Bragana, surprisingly, excels in a singing competition. Gino’s only choice is to return home with them-grim triangle, but Bear is so full of champagne that he turns their truck over and is killed outright, or so the police are told!
Death formalities and interrogations over, the lovers return to the bar, but when wildest dreams come true, they are often disappointing, aren’t they ?
