He has his own production company which created “Tango” in association with director Carlos Saura as a first co-production film; it received Grand Prix de la Commission Supérieure Technique in 1998 at the Canne film festival.

The film was also nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar the same year, and for the Golden Globe Awards in 1999. He creates most of his works in collaboration with foreign countries.

“Les chemins de traverse” for example, was made in 2004 in collaboration with France with director Manuel Poirier. He has just finished filming in collaboration with France and the UK in “The Heart of the Earth”.
