Ramon Vilaró was born in Vic in 1945. For over twenty years, he worked in Brussels, Washington and Tokyo as a reporter mainly for the national newspaper El País.
Afterwards, he was one of the directors for Cinco Días, an economical newspaper in the Spanish autonomous region of Catalonia. Nowadays, he does collaborating articles for the daily newspaper La Vanguardia and the monthly magazine Cambio16.
He has published a couple of essays: “USA, More Than Burgers and Blue-jeans” (“EEUU más allá de las hamburguesas y los pantalones vaqueros”) and “Japan, More Than Videos and Geishas” (“Japón más allá del video y de las geishas”), the book “New York and Washington” (“Nueva York y Washington”) and the historical novel “DAINICHI, “The epic of Francisco Xavier in Japan”, (“DAINICHI la epopeya de Francisco Javier en Japón”).
He has also written and directed TV documentaries.
