"This girl is like an angel from above. She’s Asian, she’s from Southall and she listens to country... "And so Rifat joins the rather unusual Country band, the Honky Tonk Cowboys. Unusual because it consists of four young Asian dudes who lead a precariously maniac existence, lurching from crisis to crisis in the wild west end of London as they look for that big break. Their own Asian community thinks they are a disgrace, but their music is no idle attempt to shock ... it is their dream. It is all they have in a country with no imagination that grinds down the spirit. Together they duck the punches in their frenzied race against time before conventional society guns down their dreams.
